Sustainability at IPVS 2025

Going Green Together

At IPVS 2025, we are deeply committed to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and taking meaningful actions to minimize our environmental impact. For IPVS 2025 in Bangkok, we are collaborating with the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) to improve the event’s environmental footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Our focus spans across key areas such as waste, food, and energy management, with carefully designed initiatives before, during, and after the event. We are dedicated to informing IPVS participants, exhibitors, and sponsors about sustainable practices and empowering them to implement these changes in their own communities.

Together, let’s advance awareness of HPV-preventable cancers and diseases, build a healthier world, and promote equity in HPV research, prevention, innovation, and care.

IPVS 2025 and the Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, also called the Global Goals) are 17 goals with 169 targets that all UN Member States have agreed to work toward achieving by 2030. They set out a plan for a world without poverty, hunger, and disease.

We at IPVS 2025 want to contribute to the achievement of these objectives in our value chain. We support and work toward the following SDGs:

Contributions You Can Make as an IPVS 2025 Delegate:

As individuals and as a community, we can and should individually contribute to protecting the earth and its natural systems and resources and to sustaining the natural ecological balance of the ecosystem. Here is what we encourage you to do during the IPVS 2025 conference:

  • Use the mobile app and the virtual platform (instead of printing) to inquire about the program details
  • Use more sustainable ways of traveling to and around Bangkok
  • Reduce the waste you generate and separate disposal
  • Do not print booking confirmations and boarding passes; instead, provide digital copies of these documents.
  • Provide an alternative to business cards – QR codes to LinkedIn or e-card
  • Opt for reusable mugs and bottles

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

IPVS 2025 is not only an excellent forum for global scientific exchange but also a place where our participants can take care of their physical and mental wellbeing.

What are we doing in 2025

  • Our commitment to health equity and well-beign drives the IPVS 2025 Sunrise Run or Walk. This inspiring event not only offers a fantastic way to boost your energy during the conference, but will also raise vital funds to provide vaccines for boys and girls in impoverished rural areas of Thailand, a joint effort with the Thai Gynecologic Cancer Society (TGCS). By joining us, you’ll be directly contributing to the prevention of HPV-related diseases in vulnerable populations.
  • We work with local catering services aiming to provide fresh, seasonal and locally sourced food.
  • Water stations around the venue giving participants constant access to water supplies and supporting reusable cups and bottles.

  • Our speakers and moderators, as well as both oral & poster presenters have been selected to optimize equal opportunities to a diversity of different career stages, geography, and genders.
  • Each delegate has the option to include a donation to delegates who need financial support. It is accessible through the registration portal.
  • We are providing registration and travel grants to participants from low and lower-middle income countries giving them the opportunity to access quality education and networking opportunities at IPVS 2025.
  • We are offering subsidized registration fees for early career professionals and for participants from low- and lower-middle income countries.
  • We are actively exploring ways for IPVS 2025 to leave a meaningful public health legacy in Bangkok through initiatives for underserved communities, potentially offering participants unique volunteer opportunities to contribute directly to local screening efforts.
  • Last year, our dedicated participants contributed to the restoration of peatland in the Scottish Highlands, setting a precedent for environmental stewardship. We’re excited to announce that IPVS 2025 attendees will have the opportunity to participate in similar environmental efforts, directly contributing to sustainability initiatives within Thailand.
