Important Visa Information
Your Visa & Travel Guide to IPVS 2025 in Bangkok
To help you prepare for a seamless and successful experience at IPVS 2025, we have partnered with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) to provide clear and comprehensive guidance on the visa application process.
We are committed to making your trip to Bangkok as smooth as possible, so you can focus on the groundbreaking science and connections that await you.
To ensure the highest chance of a successful visa application, we recommend following the official guidance provided below.
Step 1: The Recommended Visa Type
The official and most appropriate visa for all delegates attending IPVS 2025 is the Tourist (MICE) Visa. When completing your application, it is crucial to indicate your purpose of visit as: “Participate in convention (IPVS 2025) supported by TCEB.”
- Important Note: Delegates have been advised not to apply for the Non-Immigrant Visa (ED5) or any other visa type, as this may lead to delays or rejection. The Tourist (MICE) Visa is the official category for conference participation.
- Please note that the Embassy may consider issuing a different type of visa depending on the information provided by the applicant.
Step 2: Key Documentation for Your Application
Your visa application must include the official Welcome Letter from TCEB. This letter serves as a crucial supporting document that confirms the official nature of the IPVS 2025 conference. Please ensure you have this letter ready before you submit your application.
The Official Application Process
ll applications for the Tourist (MICE) Visa should be submitted through the official Thai E-Visa Website.
- Visit the official Thai E-Visa platform: www.thaievisa.go.th/visa/tourist-visa
- In the “Visa Type” section of the application form, you must select the “Tourist (MICE)” category.
Timing & Expectations
To ensure your visa is valid for the duration of the conference, we advise you to apply no earlier than 3 months and no later than 15 working days before your arrival in Thailand.
Please note that the final decision on your visa rests solely with the Thai Embassy or Consulate in your country.
Additional Entry Information
For your convenience, here is information on alternative entry methods that may apply to you, but we strongly recommend the Tourist (MICE) Visa as the safest and most appropriate option for conference attendees.
Visa Exemption & Visa on Arrival
Depending on your nationality, you may be eligible for a Visa Exemption or Visa on Arrival (VoA). While these can be used for short-term business engagements, their eligibility is at the discretion of immigration officials and may not be guaranteed.
You can check the full, up-to-date list of countries eligible for these options here: https://thaiconsulatela.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/visa-exemption-and-visa-on-arrival-to-thailand
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
All travelers entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must complete the Thai Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before their arrival. This online form is used to submit entry information and a health declaration.
