FLASH TALK MODERATORS – GUIDELINES

FLASH TALK MODERATORS – GUIDELINES

Please locate the Flash Talk Area assigned to your session. The exact location and schedule are available in the Mobile App and in the interactive program on the conference website. If you are uncertain, please don’t hesitate to ask one of the conference staff for assistance.

Flash Talks are short, high-impact abstract presentations delivered from PowerPoint slides. Each presentation is limited to 2 slides and a total of 3 minutes (2 minutes for the presentation and 1 minute for Q&A).

Before the Session

  • Arrive at least 5 minutes before the session begins to familiarize yourself with the area and check that the presentations are ready to display.
  • Confirm with the session technician (if available) that all slides are loaded and functioning correctly.

During the Session

  • Introduce yourself briefly and explain the Flash Talk format to the audience: 2 minutes per presentation + 1 minute for a short Q&A.
  • Keep the session strictly on schedule. Politely stop speakers who exceed their allotted time.
  • Moderate the brief Q&A following each talk. If there are no questions from the audience, please have one question prepared to ask the presenter yourself.
  • Encourage concise and focused discussion to maintain energy and engagement.

Session Flow

  • Each presenter will display two PowerPoint slides only.
  • You may advance slides if needed—please confirm this in advance with the presenters.
  • Maintain a supportive and encouraging tone to help presenters stay confident and on time.
